A dream for the first-ever Formula Regional career points was denied due retirement

15.9.2024 – KIC Motorsport driver Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi nearly in points position at Red Bull Ring – A dream for the first-ever Formula Regional career points was denied due retirement

In eight meeting of Formula Regional by Alpine European Championship series, which was driven in Austrian circuit of Red Bull Ring, KIC Motorsport thai driver Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi started the Saturdays 30 minute race from P9. However he and the team was forced to encounter a bitter disapointment due the retirement Bhirombhakdi experienced in the middle of the race. Therefore, once again, a dream for the first points position finish of the season 2024 Formula Regional series was denied.

For Sundays race Bhirombhakdi started from P19 and ended the race on its’ second lap due crash to series vice-leader Tuukka Taponen who experienced a spin. Bhirombhakdi wasn’t able to avoid the collision and therefore both drivers were forced to retire the race.

Because series brazilian leader Rafael Camara, as well as, vice-leader Tuukka Taponen didn’t collect points from Red Bull Ring weekend, italians Brando Badoer and Alessandro Giusti were able to decrease the gap in Championship standings; Badoer is now only 16 points behind Tuukka Taponen as there are Still two racing weekends and four rounds to be driven.

Next two events are to be driven in the middle of September at Spanish circuit of Barcelona.
