23.7.2023 – Maya Weug collect points in third weekend in-a-row – Two points positions for Ferrari Academy driver in French circuit of Paul Ricard
Finnish Formula Regional by Alpine racing team KIC Motorsport and its’ Ferrari Academy driver Maya Weug collect their first points scoring positions and first position in group of rookies in SPA-Francorchamps. After that Weug continued her uprising results by securing another points positions in Mugello. Now third-in-a-row she was able snatch five points from sixth racing weekend of the season 2023 which was driven in traditional french circuit of Paul Ricard. Because of excellent results she rised into 12th position in drivers standings as there are still eight rounds to be driven.
In 5,8kms circuit of Paul Ricard Maya Weug was introduced to a new ukraine driver as Oleksandr Partyshev surprisingly complitely retired from racing. Therefore his countryman Ivan Klymenko take a bold step from karting into a cockpit of a Formula Regional car. Klymenko will drive for the rest of the season as KIC Motorsport driver.
For the Saturdays event Weug had collect 12th and Klymenko 33th position from qualifying. After 30 minutes of intense racing Weug arrived to chequerred flag in 10th position and Klymenko in 28th position. In Sundays race Weug was 8th and Klymenko again 28th fastest in overall classifications.
Star of the weekend was french G4 Racing rookie driver Alessandro Giusti as he collect overall victory in Saturdays race. Due maximum points he dropped KIC Motorsport driver Maya Weug into third position in rookies standings. Furthermore Sundays overall winner, italian Andrea Kimi Antonelli collect more points than norwegian rookie driver Martinius Stenshorne and therefore Antonelli took the overall leadership of the series as Formula Regional by Alpine racing series gets now into six weeks holiday. Next race is to be driven in September at austrian Red Bull circuit of Spielberg.
