27.10.2024 – KIC Motorsport season 2024 ended into flames at Italian circuit of Monza

Final two rounds of Formula Regional by Alpine European Championship series was driven in traditional Italian Temple of Speed circuit, Monza.

For KIC Motorsport the weekend offered big drama as in Saturdays wet 30 minute race team thai driver Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi finished the race in 12th position and in Sundays event he avoided the collision in front of the spinning car. Due the reaction he heavily hit the circuit barriers and his car started to fire. Fortunately Bhirombhakdi walked away without injuries and the circuit personel were able to put out the fire in relatively rapid pace. KIC Motorsport second driver, vietnamize Hoang Dat Sawer finished the Saturdays race in position 26 and in Sunday to position 23.

Sundays race was a total carnage as also Finnish driver Tuukka Taponen was heavily hit by his fellow rival and eventually safety car visited the race three times before it was red flagged due the fire of KIC Motorsport driver Nandhavud Bhirombhakd.

Formula Regional by Alpine European Champion is brazilian Rafael Camara, who was 2nd fastest in Saturdays race and winner in Sundays race. Teams Champion is italian Prema Racing and drivers Vice Champion is Australian James Wharton. Tuukka Taponen collect bronze medal.
