Almost a HAT-Trick for Patrik!

20.10.2020 – KIC Motorsport had a perfect weekend in Monza – Patrik Pasma almost collect a hat-trick and Konsta Lappalainen also two times on podium

Finnish KIC Motorsport competes in FIA Formula Regional series with three cars as Flying Finns Patrik Pasma and Konsta Lappalainen as well as german Nico Göhler entered for the fifth racing weekend of season 2020 which was driven in italian circuit of Monza.

The weekend in italian Temple of Speed was VERY successful for the Finns as Pasma and Lappalainen collect four podium positions. Pasma was the fastest driver of the weekend as he finished all three events in P1. However he was penalised in second race due a misunderstanding in Safety Car procedure. Therefore he was dropped out from podium into 4th position which was also an excellent result among two wins.

Another Flying Finn Konsta Lappalainen collect one silver, one bronze and one 7th fastest position. Nico Göhler was 9th fastest in first race and in second race he was hit by a fellow competitor who caused the collision. Damages for the car were so severe that KIC Motorsport mechanics weren’t able to fix the car into third event.

In Fridays’ practice sessions Pasma was fastest like also in Saturdays’ qualifyings and first race. On Sunday we also finished the both events in P1 positions but unfortunately he was given a time penalty and therefore he collect 4th highest Championship points. Still two victories and one points position was a strong show of highly talented driver.

– In KIC Motorsport the 4th racing weekend of season 2020 will be remembered a result we had so much hoped for as Patrik Pasma was very near to a hat-trick and Konsta lost his maiden victory just by 0,219 seconds. Furthermore as our third driver Nico Göhler was also in very promising speed before encoutering a hit from his fellow competitor, it can now be said that we have made our jobs right. For sure we’ll drink one beer for our podium position drivers, team manager Peter Flythström tells.

– I wouldn’t mind to experience more of this kind weekends as Patrik and Konsta were in the speed we had so much hoped for. We have analysed and learned from the mistakes we have done during the season and therefore now it seems that we can challenge our rival italian Prema Powerteam drivers. Therefore we’re already waiting for the next spanish racing weekend to get underway as Barcelona is expecting us in final weekend of October, KIC Motorsport owner Petri Lappalainen continues.

Because Prema Powerteam driver Arthur LeClerc had a miserable weekend in Monza, his fellow team mate Gianluca Petecof is now leading the series as there are still eight rounds to be driven.
