KIC Motorsport Asian trio wasn't able to collect points

23.6.2024 – Chinese Yujia Gao debuted as KIC Motorsport driver in Formula Regional Hungaroring – Asian trio wasn’t able to collect points

In Midnight summer weekend the fourth round of Formula Regional EU was driven in circuit of Hungaroring. KIC Motorsport entered the event with three asian drivers as vietnamize Hoang Dat Sawer and thai Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi drove with a new chinese driver Yujia Gao who had previously competed in Asian Porsche Carrera Cup as well as in Formula Regional Middle-East series.

Two 30 minute races were driven in traditional 4,381 kilometres circuit. Even KIC Motorsport team and its’ drivers made superb job, they were unable to reach podium positions. In both events the trio reached into positions 22 to 27. KIC Motorsport drivers made Small mistakes in the starts and opening laps and therefore all their effort in qualifyings were changed into back-row positions. Therefore top-10 points positions were ruled out and drivers had to satisfy for gaining only experience.

Both races were won by a Finn and Ferrari Academy driver Tuukka Taponen. Due past three-in-a-row victories he has now reduced the gap for series leader and another Ferrari Academy driver Rafael Camara. Also as italian Brando Badoer collect two silver podium positions, he stept into 3rd position in drivers standings as there are still six intense racing weekends and 12 rounds to be driven.

Next two 30 minute events are driven in three weeks at traditional Italian circuit of Mugello.
