21.7.2024 – KIC Motorsport had a sticky weekend in French circuit of Paul Ricard
Sixth round of Formula Regional by Alpine European Championship series was driven in traditional french circuit of Paul Ricard. In highly intense racing weekend all three KIC Motorsport asian drivers were left far away from their goals as in both 30 minute events vietnamize Hoang Dat Sawer and chinese Yujia Gao finished the events in positions between 22 to 26. In previous event thai Nandhavud Bhirombhakdi was close to his first-ever points position. Now in Paul Ricard he was forced to retire both events.
In Saturdays dry event brazilian Championship leader Rafael Camara collect victory and silver position Finnish driver Tuukka Taponen was fifth fastest. Because in Sundays wet race Taponen suffered a collision with his fellow rival and was forced to retire, Camara was able to increase his Championship lead into 54 points as there are still eight events to be driven. Tuukka Tapola is in second position in overall standings, 27 points ahead of italian Brando Badoer.
Next round of the Formula Regional by Alpine European Championship series is to be driven in Italian circuit of Imola at second weekend of September.
